Is it permissible for the head of an administration to absolve a government employee who used or took from state property or acted at the state's expense? And who has the right to do so and how is it done? And must what remains with the employee be returned, despite its age and change of condition? And is it sufficient to estimate the total value and deposit it into an absolution account?

The director of the administration might be authorized to absolve you of those rights, and in that case, there is no blame upon you if he absolves you of them. If he is not authorized, then he should inquire about who is authorized, or free himself from the right by returning it. This right can be discharged by depositing the value of those items into an escrow account; because fungible items are guaranteed by their like, and non-fungible items are guaranteed by their value. Stolen items must be returned if they still exist, and guaranteed if they are damaged.
