Is objecting to an employer's use of a copied signature, with the owner's authorization, in official transactions, a right or an exaggeration?
It is not permissible to sign on behalf of a person using their name as if they were present; because it involves deception and gives the impression of the signatory's presence, and because of the corruptions that may result from that, such as proving their presence in a certain place at the time a crime occurred, or infringing upon the rights of their partner. What is obligatory is to prevent this deception, whether it is for the benefit of the owner of the name or for the one who will forge their signature. A person can appoint someone to represent them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever deceives is not of me.”
