Is the salary the questioner receives considered unlawful, given that she is still working reduced hours because her husband submitted documents for a medical condition worse than hers in 2004, and she was unable to change the decision after her condition improved, and her husband opposes her return to normal working hours?
The employee must adhere to what they have contracted with the employer, based on the Almighty's saying: "O you who have believed, fulfill [all] contracts." Any reduction in working hours due to illness must be in accordance with the regulated provisions. Preparing forged medical documents is considered forgery and bearing false witness, which are among the major sins. Repentance is required, and the money taken unjustly must be returned. The employer should be informed of recovery to rectify the situation, and there is no obedience to a husband in disobeying the Creator. As for the money taken unjustly, if the institution is governmental, it should be spent on public Muslim interests. If it is private, and the owners agree to let you keep it, then it is a gift from them; otherwise, it must be returned to them.
