If the husband intended his oath as a promise and not a conditional divorce (ta'liq), and he spoke to you about his work, then no divorce or prohibition occurs. He is liable for a single expiation for breaking an oath, which is feeding ten poor persons or clothing them, or fasting for three days if he cannot afford that. However, if he intended to make divorce and prohibition conditional upon his speaking to you about his work, and this occurred, then divorce and prohibition take effect. The ruling regarding the prohibition depends on his intention. It is advisable to present the matter to a Sharia (definition) court or to trusted scholars.
