The answer

It is incorrect to break your fast based on the of Mecca if you are in another city. It is safer to make up the day if you broke your fast before the adhan of your own city, as stated by the Permanent Committee. Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen holds the view that the fast is valid and there is no need for a make-up day for someone who broke their fast relying on the adhan of the Grand Mosque in Mecca while in Jeddah, and then discovered a time difference, because they did not do so intentionally. He supported his view with the Almighty's saying: {And there is no blame upon you for that in which you have erred} and the of Asma bint Abi Bakr that they broke their fast on a cloudy day and then the sun appeared, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not order them to make it up.
