What should one who works at night and cannot perform the night vigil (qiyam al-layl) do?

al-Layl (standing in prayer at night) is achieved by filling it with prayer and other acts of worship, such as reciting the Qur’an, supplication (du’a), remembrance (), and seeking forgiveness (istighfar). Prayer is the best of these because it encompasses reading the Qur’an, supplication, and seeking forgiveness. However, if you are unable to perform it due to work, its reward will not be lost to you if you revive the night with any of the aforementioned acts of worship.
