The answer

It is impermissible to work in grocery stores that sell prohibited items, as this constitutes aiding in sin. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed ten individuals concerning alcohol, including its carrier and its seller. However, if a Muslim is compelled to take such a job due to the unavailability of other opportunities, it is permissible for him to do so until the necessity ceases, in accordance with His, the Exalted's, saying: "But whoever is forced, neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit] – then there is no sin upon him." He must leave that country once the necessity is gone.
