The answer

Salvation from usury is not achieved by resorting to it again; rather, it exacerbates problems. Permissible alternatives are numerous, such as a benevolent loan (), and transactions offered by Islamic banks like Tawarruq, as well as for the debt-ridden. One must supplicate and seek refuge in Allah. Among the reported supplications is: "O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provisions instead of Your unlawful ones, and enrich me by Your grace, making me independent of anyone besides You." If there is no way to repay an immediate debt except by dealing with a usurious bank, or out of fear of imprisonment, then it is permissible to deal with it only to the extent of دفع الضرر الشديد (averting severe harm).
