What is the ruling on one who inherited a tree that was watered with stolen water?

The ownership of a tree is established even if it grew with stolen water. The most that needs to be done is to guarantee the value of the stolen water to its owner or seek his forgiveness. The scholars have stipulated that the yield of crops irrigated with usurped water belongs to the owner of the crops, along with guaranteeing the water. The obligatory zakat (definition) on this yield is half of the tenth, not the full tenth, because the water is guaranteed. The ownership of the tree transfers to the heirs, and the value of the usurped water is considered a debt that must be paid from the deceased's estate before distribution.
