When were the Prophetic hadiths collected, and is it true that they were written down 200 years after the death of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him?

Rejecting hadith (definition) on the pretext that their compilation was delayed and that fabricated ones exist is an evasion of the rulings of Islamic law. This is because Allah has mandated obedience to the Messenger (peace be upon him), and details of worship, such as prayer, zakat (definition), and Hajj, were only known through the Sunnah (definition). The compilation of hadith was not delayed by 200 years; some Companions wrote them down during the Prophet’s lifetime (peace be upon him), and their actual collection began during the era of the Tabi'in, relying on narration with connected chains of transmission (isnad (definition)). As for the existence of fabricated hadith, Allah has raised scholars who have clarified the authentic, the weak, and the fabricated, and the authentic and good (hasan (definition)) hadith far outnumber the fabricated ones. Therefore, a Muslim must seek what is established and act upon it, and avoid the fabricated ones and warn against them.
