Can infertility be treated with charity (sadaqah)?

Childbearing is an innate desire and a purpose of marriage. If it is prevented due to an illness, it is permissible to seek lawful remedies, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Seek treatment, for Allah Almighty has not created a disease without creating a cure for it, except for one disease: old age." Among the lawful remedies is charity, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Cure your sick with charity." Among the most important remedies are supplication (du'a), seeking forgiveness (istighfar), reliance on Allah (tawakkul (definition)), and having a good opinion of Him. Then comes acceptance of Allah's decree and destiny, for everything that befalls a servant is by Allah's decree, wisdom, and mercy. Allah knows best what is good for us.
