A husband is not permitted to prevent his wife from disposing of her private property through lawful means, such as giving charity (sadaqah (definition)) or gifts (hiba) to her family. The husband must provide for his wife equitably, and the wife is not obliged to spend from her private property unless she voluntarily chooses to do so. What a woman earns from her work is her exclusive right, unless the husband stipulates taking a portion of it in exchange for allowing her to work, in which case she is bound to fulfill this condition. A woman assisting her husband with her wealth is considered an act of noble character and perfect companionship based on good conduct.
