Is it true that reciting Surat Al-An'am repels misfortune?

There is no indicating that reciting Surat Al-An'am repels tribulation. However, the Qur’an is a mercy for the believers. Tribulations are repelled by supplication (du'a), charity (), seeking forgiveness (istighfar), and repentance (). Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said that supplication repels tribulation if it is stronger than it, and it alleviates it if the tribulation is stronger. Indeed, Ayyub (peace be upon him) resorted to Allah during his affliction, and Allah removed it from him.
