It is permissible for an agent entrusted with delivering to take from it for himself if he is among those eligible to receive it, such as being in debt, as this falls under the general meaning of the Almighty’s saying: "Indeed, [prescribed] charitable donations are only for the poor and the needy." Some scholars are of the opinion that it is not permissible, but the first opinion is stronger.
