Is it permissible to give zakat for the treatment of the wife's mother, knowing that she has sons who borrow for their personal needs, and is it obligatory for them to borrow for their mother, or is it permissible for her to receive zakat funds?

It is permissible to give to the wife's mother and her siblings if they are poor and unable to meet their needs and the expenses of their mother's medical treatment, according to the Almighty's saying: "Indeed, zakat expenditures are only for the poor and for the needy." Giving zakat to them is more befitting. The children are not obliged to borrow money for treatment if they are unable.
