The answer

It is permissible for a son to give to his parents if they are in debt and cannot find a way to repay their debt, provided that the debt is not due to an expenditure obligatory upon the son. It is also permissible for a mother who is in debt to accept zakat from her son if she cannot find a way to repay her debt, and she is not obligated to sell her essential belongings to settle the debt.
