Is it permissible to give Zakat al-Fitr as one saa’ of rice, and another of bulgur, and another of lentils, and another of chickpeas, and another of chicken meat, such that there are five different types for five people?

al-Fitr is obligatory as a sa' of food. It is permissible to give it as rice, lentils, chickpeas, and similar staples that people consume. As for giving it as chicken meat, it is not permissible in our lands, because the predominant staple food here is wheat and rice. There is no harm if each family member gives a different sa' of food, and it is permissible to give these asa' to one needy person or to a group. The best approach in this regard is what is most beneficial to the poor.
