al-Fitr is an obligation established by the Prophetic . Consensus on its obligatoriness has been نقل (narrated/transmitted) from a number of scholars, such as Al-Bayhaqi and Ibn al-Mundhir. The disagreement regarding its obligatoriness is considered weak and anomalous, based on the possibility of its command being abrogated, which is a view not to be relied upon.
