Disagreement in matters of religion, if it arises from (independent reasoning) and a quest for the truth, then there is no harm in it; rather, it is a mercy, because the Companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, spread out into various cities, and each group acquired the knowledge that reached them.
Whoever is capable of examining the arguments and discerning the truth with its evidence should act according to what becomes clear to them. And whoever is a layperson, incapable of examining and deriving evidence, should follow whomever they trust among the people of knowledge.
