Is there Zakat on coffee?

Zakat (definition) is obligatory on coffee if it reaches the nisab (definition) (minimum threshold) because it is a type of grain that is stored and measured. The nisab is five awsuq (plural of wasq), and one wasq is sixty sa's (plural of sa') by the Prophet's sa'. The obligatory amount is one-tenth if it is irrigated without cost, and half of one-tenth if it is irrigated with cost. If it is irrigated half the year by one method and half by the other, then three-quarters of one-tenth is due. It is disbursed to the recipients of zakat. The evidence for this is the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "There is no sadaqah (definition) (zakat) on less than five awsuq of dates or grain," and his saying: "On what is irrigated by the sky and springs, or what is watered by its roots (without irrigation), one-tenth is due, and on what is irrigated by drawing water, half of one-tenth is due."
