The answer

is obligatory on the price of the land if a hawl (lunar year) has passed over it, and it reaches the (minimum threshold) either by itself or by joining other zakat-eligible assets owned by the proprietor. Its amount is one-quarter of one-tenth (2.5%). As for land that was not originally a trade commodity and then the intention to trade it arose, Zakat is not obligatory on it due to this intention, according to the majority of scholars.
