Is zakat due on gold ornaments that have reached the nisab and are not used every year, or is zakat for one year only sufficient?

If gold jewelry is intended for adornment and use, there is no zakat (definition) on it according to the opinion of the majority of scholars, even if it is not used. However, if it is not acquired for adornment, zakat is obligatory on it every year if it reaches the nisab (definition) and a full year has passed over it, unless the zakat is paid from the gold itself and its amount consequently falls below the nisab, in which case its zakat is waived.
