The answer

If the money sent to you by your father is for your ownership, then is obligatory upon you if it reaches the and a full year has passed over it (85 grams of gold or 595 grams of silver), and its amount is one-quarter of one-tenth (2.5%). However, if the money is only for your utilization and the remainder is held as a trust, then Zakat is obligatory upon your father if his money reaches the nisab.
