Machinery not intended for sale is not subject to . Zakat is only due on the profit generated from it, provided that the profit reaches the (threshold) and a hawl (full lunar year) has passed on it. Thus, machinery acquired for personal use or for generating income is not subject to Zakat, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There is no sadaqa (Zakat) on a man's slave or his horse." As for the depiction of living beings, there is a difference of opinion among scholars regarding its permissibility.
