Is zakat obligatory on a sum of money deposited in a non-Islamic bank for the purpose of preparing a bride, and are the resulting profits permissible or usury?

The money saved for marriage is subject to zakat (definition) if it reaches the nisab (definition), and its amount is a quarter of a tenth. So, the amount of zakat on thirty-one thousand Egyptian pounds is seven hundred and seventy-five pounds. It is not permissible to deposit money in a usurious bank because usury is among the gravest sins, and Allah has threatened those who consume it with war. It is obligatory to withdraw the money from this bank and not benefit from the usurious interest. Rather, it must be given as charity to the poor and needy.
