The answer

If the wealth reaches the minimum threshold (approximately 85 grams of gold or 595 grams of silver), is only obligatory after a full lunar year has passed over it without its value dropping below the threshold. If you spend from the wealth an amount that causes it to fall below the minimum threshold before the year is complete, then Zakat is not due on you.
