It is not permissible for a woman to pay the expiation for an oath (kaffarat al-yameen) from her husband's money unless he gives permission. If he does not give permission, then she must pay it from her own money if she is able, even if it means selling some of her gold, because the value of the expiation usually does not exceed the price of one gram of gold. If she is unable to feed or clothe, then she must fast for three days, whether she is a man or a woman, and whether she spends on herself or not.
