How is the estate of a deceased father, who left a three-story house, to be divided, knowing that the eldest son was responsible for the top floor, and the younger son for the second floor, in addition to a sum of money he received from the father? And how is the gold left by the deceased mother to be distributed among the children?

If the help given by parents to sons is met with other help given to daughters, then the daughters are not entitled to receive gold without their brothers. However, if the daughters did not receive compensation for what the sons received, then they have the right to obtain compensation for that, whether in gold or otherwise, or the sons should return what they received to the general estate to be divided justly, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Fear Allah and be just among your children." The inheritance is distributed with the male receiving twice the share of the female, according to the Almighty's saying: "Allah instructs you concerning your children: for the male, what is equal to the share of two females." Matters of inheritance should be referred to Sharia (definition) courts for investigation.
