Scholars have differed regarding the on jewelry that is worn. The preponderant opinion is that zakat is not obligatory on it if it is prepared for use. However, paying zakat on it is good as a استحباب (recommended act) to avoid disagreement. If it is intended for saving or trading, then zakat on it is obligatory by consensus, provided it reaches the (85 grams or more) and a full year has passed on it.
