The answer

is obligatory on jewelry intended for storage if it reaches the and a full year passes over it. As for jewelry intended for personal use, there is no zakat on it according to the majority of scholars. However, some scholars obligate zakat on it unconditionally, and this is more cautious. The amount of zakat is a quarter of a tenth (2.5%), and it is permissible to pay its value. There is no zakat on what was sold before the year passed. It is permissible for a husband to donate zakat to his wife on condition of her intention. Zakat from past years must be made up, along with repentance.
