Is zakat obligatory on gifted gold that is not worn, and on children's jewelry acquired for them that is not worn?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
If the bracelets are intended for permissible use and adornment, there is no due on them, even if they are not worn, or if their value reaches any amount. This also applies to children's jewelry if it is for use and adornment, not for saving money. Islamic law has exempted jewelry intended for adornment from zakat because it is not intended for growth.
