1. Worn or ready-for-use ornamental gold is not subject to , according to the majority of scholars.

2. Regarding gold jewelry that is not worn and not intended for use or possession, some scholars hold that zakat is not obligatory on it.

3. It is permissible to give out zakat on your behalf with your permission, but it is not valid without your permission.

4. The (minimum taxable amount) for gold is 85 grams of pure gold or more. The pure gold content is calculated by multiplying the number of grams by the karat and dividing the result by 24.

5. Zakat is to be given from the gold itself, and it is permissible to give it out as cash or as items to the poor, by knowing its market value at the time of giving out the zakat.
