The answer

is obligatory on saved money from aid if it reaches the (85 grams of gold or 595 grams of silver) and a full lunar year has passed over it. Its amount is a quarter of a tenth (2.5%). Zakat is not waived because it is a grant, or because its owner is unemployed or a student. Charity from it is also permissible, whether it reaches the nisab or not.
