Is zakat obligatory on salt extracted from the earth, and is it considered a zakat of minerals?

According to jurists, minerals are everything that comes out of the earth's interior and has value, such as gold, silver, oil, and salt. Scholars differed regarding the zakat (definition) on minerals: 1. Hanafis: Zakat is obligatory only on solid minerals that can be hammered and shaped (like gold and silver). 2. Hanbalis: Zakat is obligatory on all minerals, solid or liquid. 3. Malikis and Shafi'is: Zakat is obligatory only on gold and silver among minerals.

This last opinion is the most preponderant due to the lack of explicit legal evidence obligating zakat on other than them. Salt extracted from the earth is not subject to zakat according to the majority of scholars, but giving zakat on it out of caution is better and clears one's conscience.
