The answer

It is permissible to place in the boxes designated for collecting it and distributing it to its rightful recipients, or for collecting money for an entity that falls under one of the eight categories of Zakat beneficiaries mentioned in His Almighty's saying: (Indeed, [prescribed] charitable donations are only to be given to the poor and the needy, and to those who work on [administering] them, and to those whose hearts are to be reconciled, and to [free] captives and debtors, and for the cause of Allah, and to the wayfarer; [this is] an obligation from Allah. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise), provided that those in charge of these boxes are trustworthy.
