The answer

It is possible to rectify giving money to a poor person with the intention of on behalf of another person, according to some scholars, in two ways:

1. You give the money to the poor person on behalf of one of the people obligated to pay Zakat, with the intention of returning to them for it. If they approve of that, it is valid. This is the correct view according to Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen. 2. You lend this amount to the poor person, then when one of the Zakat payers gives you their money, you ask their permission to take it for yourself to settle the poor person's debt. This is according to those who validate giving Zakat to the owner without the permission of the indebted poor person.
