The answer

No one is permitted to believe that a righteous person can look into the Preserved Tablet (al-Lawh al-Mahfuz), as this pertains to the Unseen, which can only be established through a textual proof, and there is no indication that anyone has been granted such a ability. Allah informs His prophets of some aspects of the Unseen through revelation, as a means of supporting them. A saint (wali) may also be informed of a matter from the Unseen through inspiration (ilham), as happened with Umar ibn al-Khattab and Sariya. However, this does not mean that he looked into the Preserved Tablet. A believer should not delve into the specifics of how inspiration and unveiling occur.
