What is the difference between being secure from Allah's devices and lacking fear of Allah?

Feeling safe from Allah's devices (makr) may be a major sin if the obligatory fear is diminished, even if its root remains. It may be disbelief (kufr) if the root of fear is entirely absent. So, whoever has little fear and much security (from Allah's makr) is among the people of sins. As for whoever completely lacks fear, he is a disbeliever. And for the people of Tawhid (definition) (monotheism) from among the people of the Qiblah, their feeling of safety from Allah's devices is proportionate to their sins. And whoever perfects his faith and realizes his Tawhid, he fears and does not feel safe from Allah's devices. Feeling safe from Allah's devices means feeling safe from Allah's gradual drawing in of His servants (istidraj). Istidraj leads to this feeling of safety, and no nation was ever punished except that it had felt safe.
