What is the ruling on the intrusive thoughts about creed that afflict a young man, and do they affect his faith? Is his faith considered sound despite his feelings of distress, boredom, and fear of disbelief? And must he return the money he took from his oppressive father to his father, or should he listen to his mother who says that his father is a fool?

As long as your heart rejects and detests these intrusive thoughts (waswas), your faith is not affected by them. In fact, your struggle against them may open a door to obedience and reward. You must seek Allah's help and repel them. As for taking money from one's father without his permission, it is not permissible unless the child is in need and the father does not provide for him. Otherwise, it must be returned. The matter of a profligate father can be taken to court for interdiction.
