Will God punish a false witness for facilitating inheritance inventory procedures, knowing that the purpose was to divide the inheritance according to Islamic Sharia among the legal heirs, even though the deceased was unable to officially register his children with the state?

The fatwa (definition) responded that only Allah Almighty knows whether the questioner will be punished or not. It stated that she erred in her testimony because it was a false testimony and a perjured oath, which is a sin that necessitates repentance to Allah Almighty through remorse and a sincere resolve not to return to it. It added that she must hasten to repent and have good expectations of Allah Almighty, for He accepts repentance from His servants, forgives them, and transforms their evil deeds into good ones. It also mentioned that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, informed that whoever repents, Allah will accept his repentance. It further added that many texts indicate that if a Muslim dies disobedient and without repenting, then his matter is up to Allah; if He wills, He punishes him, and if He wills, He forgives him. This applies to all sins short of Shirk (definition) (associating partners with Allah); if a servant dies without repenting from them, his fate is subject to Allah's will.
