The answer

"Praise be to Allah and prayers and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah. The martyr has many virtues, including that all sins are forgiven except for debt. The martyr has seven qualities with Allah: forgiveness at the first gush of his blood, seeing his seat in Paradise, being adorned with the adornment of faith, marrying the beautiful-eyed maidens, being saved from the torment of the grave, being safe from the greatest terror, wearing the crown of dignity, and interceding for seventy of his family members.

It is recommended to bury the martyr where he was martyred, though this is preferred and not obligatory. As for obtaining martyrdom, jihad has conditions that may not always be met, but whoever sincerely asks Allah for martyrdom, Allah will grant him the ranks of the martyrs even if he dies in his bed."
