Was leaving the first job a mistake, or was it a test from Allah?

You should praise Allah Almighty for having been saved from working in the construction of churches, because that is among the vilest acts and is considered aiding disbelief. The Permanent Committee has issued a fatwa (definition) stating the impermissibility of building a church or any non-Islamic place of worship, or even guarding it, due to the sinfulness involved and its contradiction of Allah Almighty's saying: (And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression). It is advised to strive to seek lawful sustenance, for whoever gives up something for the sake of Allah, Allah will compensate him with something better than it, and (And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect).
