The question

What is the ruling on a woman wearing clothes that are form-fitting but not clinging to the body, that are slightly loose and do not delineate the body, citing the Hadith: "Two types of people from the inhabitants of Hell I have not seen: men with whips like the tails of oxen with which they beat people, and women who are clothed yet naked, inclining [to evil] and inviting others to it, their heads like the humps of camels, leaning to one side. They will not enter Paradise nor smell its fragrance," and the evidence that a woman's 'awrah in front of another woman is from the navel to the knee?

The answer

Among the most important conditions for a Muslim woman's attire is that it be loose, not delineating her body parts, and not be a source of temptation. Most tailored clothing does not meet this condition. The awrah (intimate parts) of a Muslim woman in front of another Muslim woman is from the navel to the knee, as supported by the Almighty's saying: "or their women," meaning she may display her adornment to Muslim women, but not to others. The threat mentioned in the hadiths pertains to those who display their adornment when going out or in front of non- men.
