The answer

Engaging with the Quran—reciting it, listening to it, and contemplating it—is superior to merely glorifying God (tasbih). This is because listening to the Quran involves learning it and exposing oneself to the mercy promised in Allah’s words: ﴿And when the Quran is recited, listen to it and pay attention that you may receive mercy.﴾ [Al-A'raf: 204]. Furthermore, voluntary acts of seeking knowledge are the best of voluntary acts, as evidenced by the : "The superiority of knowledge is better than the superiority of worship."
