How do I deal with a friend who threatens suicide every time I refuse his sexual advances, especially since I despise his behavior, but cannot leave him due to his threats?
The questioner must immediately distance himself from this person, because what he did is a heinous evil and a major sin. Scholars believe that death for the one subjected to this act is better than enduring it, due to the corruption it causes, from which there is no hope of rectification, the loss of modesty, and an effect like poison in the heart. Repentance is accepted from whoever repents with sincere repentance and replaces evil deeds with good ones. However, for whoever persists in his error, there is fear of a bad end for him. The questioner's duty is sincere repentance and complete avoidance of the perpetrator, while warning those he knows of his evil, without exposing himself to danger.
