Is it permissible to travel to another country to offer condolences and solace to the family of a deceased person, or is this considered an impermissible setting out of mounts (شد الرحال)?

If the mourning gathering includes innovations (bid'ah) and superstitions, such as establishing lamentation ceremonies (ma'atim), then participation in it is impermissible. However, if it is merely a consolation for the living, a soothing of their hearts, and a supplication for the deceased, then there is no harm in it, especially if those involved are relatives of the deceased.
