Are major sins weighed as heavily on the Scale as ordinary sins that are only expiated by repentance, and are they of different degrees? And is one who wears an unlawful hijab considered among those who commit major sins, like the unveiled wanton woman, or is there a difference?

Major sins differ from minor sins, and scholars have classified them based on the Almighty's saying: (and has made hateful to you disbelief, wickedness, and disobedience), and His saying: (those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, only [committing] slight ones). On the Day of Resurrection, major sins will be placed on the scale. If the good deeds outweigh them, their owner will enter Paradise, and if the evil deeds outweigh them, they will enter Hell, unless Allah grants forgiveness. The degrees of major sins vary according to the accompanying factors that either aggravate or lighten them. Repetition and persistence increase the sin. A woman who wears the prescribed hijab (definition) and applies a little makeup is not the same as a woman who displays herself immodestly.
