The answer

The father and his sisters do not inherit from their maternal uncle, because the children of the deceased's sister are not among the inheritors; rather, they are considered ذوي الأرحام (relatives by kinship). As for the grandmother (the father's mother), if she was a full sister or a half-sister through the father, and she died after the maternal uncle, and no one blocked her from inheritance, then she has a share in his estate, which then transfers to her heirs, including the father. However, if she was a half-sister through the mother, she does not inherit in the presence of daughters. Given the criticality and complexity of inheritance matters, the case must be referred to the courts or specialized scholars for consultation to verify all heirs, wills, and debts before distributing the estate.
