What is the ruling regarding a wife working and traveling without a mahram before consummation of the marriage, given that the husband is aware of the impermissibility of this and is unable to prevent her?

It is the wife's right to refuse to travel with her husband and to deny him intimacy until he pays her the deferred dower. However, her continuing in a job or travel that the husband does not approve of, especially if such travels are illicit, is not her right, due to the generality of Allah's saying: "O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire," and "Men are in charge of women." The wife's obedience to her husband is among the واجبات (obligations), and she and her family must repent, and the husband must prevent her from prohibitions with wisdom.
