What is the ruling on a person saying to another who has a cold: "You caught a cold due to changes in the weather"?

Changes in the weather are one of the reasons Allah has endowed with the power to influence the occurrence of colds and flu. Connecting causes with their effects is a manifestation of Allah Almighty's wisdom. Whoever believes this, while also having faith in Allah's decree, has hit the mark. However, the error lies in believing that the cause is effective in itself, or in denying the effect of the causes that Allah has made effective. People hold three views regarding causes: two extremes and a middle ground. One extreme denies the effect of causes altogether, while the other exaggerates by attributing intrinsic effectiveness to them. As for the middle ground, they are those who believe that causes have an effect due to the inherent positive forces Allah has placed within them.
